A visit from Appleby for the Kendal A team to start the season and a win for newly crowned club champion Ben Welton and a close 2 – 3 game for Graham Braithwaite was not enough as the team lost 4 games to 1.
Kendal B team had a unsuccessful trip to a stronger than usual looking Cockermouth side as the home team ran out winners with a 4 games to 1 win, Dave Archer was the only Kendal B team winner with a 3 – 0 win on the away trip.
Kendal C team ran a close match with Wigton B team , tight games and 5 setters for Russ Lilliebridge and Joel Howse could have made the difference to a 4 games to 1 loss for Kendal C, with Ian Garnett posting Kendal C team’s only win of the night 3 – 0.

A busy time over the next few months starting with the Annual Mike McElroy challenge as the wiser players take on the quicker counterparts in a Team event, of the Over 50 vs the unders. A social event for all members on a Saturday afternoon on November the 22nd.
Then moving into early December from the 11th to the 14th the Annual Simon Storey Handicap will take place, a chance for all club members to enjoy a weekend of squash and fun in a Tournement that can say all players are evenly matched. Please take advantage of this great chance and sign up now.
Then between Christmas and New year the club runs a Doubles Squash Tournament usually on a round robin basis and even pairings picked out on the day by Pauline, run off a bit of Christmas excess ready for the New year Binge, all welcome (dates to be confirmed).
