Cumbria league cup final

Congratulations to Kendal C team who came out on top of an epic semi-final against the B team, and will play in the county final on Saturday 21st March at Windscale.
Anyone interested in going to the event (which includes squash matches, awards, music and drink) please talk to Shayne Holliday.

Heartstart course

At the start of the season a member of Carlisle Squash Club had a heart attack on court. Happily he survived because the club had access to a defibrillator which was used to save his life.

We are looking at either acquiring a defibrillator ourselves or sharing one with the adjoining organisations. North West Ambulance Service have offered to come to the club and run a two hour Heartstart course for anyone interested.
This will cover the basics of emergency first aid as well as use of defibrillators.
We would like to take them up on this offer, but want input from members on when would be the best time for such a course. If there is sufficient interest they will repeat the course.

There is no charge for the course. If you are interested please email heartstart@kendalsquash.com indicating preferred time:

  • evening
  • Saturday morning
  • Saturday afternoon
  • Sunday

Squash ladder

Reminder that the squash ladder gives the opportunity of arranging friendly matches with players you might not otherwise meet. However, you can also “double up” your ladder and league games – ie if you are playing a league game you can put it down as a ladder match result also. Anyone wanting to join the ladder should put their name on the sheet or give Celia/Bill a call.
