Wooden racket competition
It’s 50 years since Kendal Squash Club left it’s ad-hoc subterranean court in Staveley and moved to its purpose built courts in the heart of Kendal where the club remains today.
Members had worked hard to acquire the site and then grafted to build the courts themselves. The legacy of their efforts is that Kendal Squash Club is a thriving, financially sound community club with some of the best courts in the county.
The club is planning a series of events to celebrate the half-century. The first of these is a wooden racket competition scheduled for Friday 23rd August, start time 1830.
Players will use old style original wooden rackets and are asked to dress in 1970s style whites.
The tournament will be followed up with a meal at the Brewery.
